What is a Psychological or Psychoeducational Evaluation?

We use a variety of specialized tests and procedures to obtain information about a child’s academic functioning, learning, behavior, or mental health in order to guide treatment and/or educational planning.

A psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand a student’s unique learning profile, including cognitive strengths and weaknesses, academic skills, and socio-emotional well-being. An evaluation typically involves a series of standardized testing, observations, and interviews to identify variables that may impact academic performance. The results intend to provide valuable insights for parents and educators, guiding the development of tailored interventions, educational strategies, and support services to help learners thrive in their academic journey. An evaluation aims to empower parents with a deeper understanding of their child’s abilities and challenges, fostering a collaborative approach to enhance overall learning and success in school.
